About The Brand

GAURI KOHLI is a design house creating sculptural objects for the home in marble, onyx, travertine, brass, acacia wood, wool and cotton. Founded in 2012, it is named for its designer, Gauri Kohli, who directs every form, material and finish.

  • What It Is

Printed canvas, ribbed and upright, made up as a storage basket carrying a continuous illustrated scene rather than repeating panels. A jungle tableau wraps the full circumference: dense foliage, a leopard mid-stride, botanical forms layered across a warm amber and sage ground. Dark slate handles and rim complete the form. Because the scene wraps rather than repeats, the basket has a front and a back, and the leopard decides which is which. Foliage and form resolve from across a hall; the layering only separates within a few feet. The ribbed wall holds its shape when the basket is emptied, and the print sits flush against it throughout. Measurements: 14" D x 20" H Material: Printed canvas Color: Warm amber and dusty sage ground with slate, blush, and terracotta detailing Natural variation: Slight variations in print and texture highlight the individuality of each piece
