FAQ
-
We recommend a set for daily use and a set for formal occasions—however, you can always mix and match to add visual excitement to the table. If you don’t do a lot of hosting, you can still elevate the everyday with dessert plates or chargers.
-
Eight place settings are a good starting point, but you can make it more or fewer depending on your family size and how often you host.
-
Start with classic white or another neutral color, then it’s all about layering. You can add in a floral salad plate or brightly patterned charger to bring dimension to the table. If you want to keep things simple, stick to the same color family. For a more daring approach, check the color wheel! Any colors on opposite ends of the color wheel are going to create a dynamic display together. As for pattern mixing, vary the scale—for example, big, bold blossoms can really pop with a small geometric print. And when in doubt, you can always add texture.
-
To cover your hosting bases, we recommend 2–3 platters, 2–3 bowls, a cake plate, a cheeseboard, and serving utensils. Of course, it always depends on how many people you like to host, and the types of dishes you like to serve. If you’re a big fan of a dessert spread, for example, you might want to add another cake plate to the mix.
