Smelly and not attractive

This comforter smelled SO bad out of the box, I didn't even want it in my garage! I wasn't sure I even wanted to keep it as not only did it smell terrible, the colors were also not what I had hoped. The blue-gray sections were fine, but the cream color section was much more yellow than I would have liked. I washed the comforter twice with odor eliminating detergent to make it usable, but in the end it was just too blah. Also, very strange that the two pillow shams aren't the same - the color blocking goes in different directions, and it's not attractive. The set ended up at Goodwill the same day. :-(
