I purchased in July 2025 because I’ve owned Sky sheets in the past and the quality was outstanding — far better than other premium brands I’ve tried. However, it’s clear the quality of the production has changed dramatically. Both sets began pilling after a few washes, which is not consistent with the product’s premium positioning or my prior experience with this brand. I’m out a lot of money (2 sets of sheets, 2 duvets, 2 sets of extra pillow cases). I’m more depressed that I now need to find new sheets. Don’t trust the old 5 star reviews.

Bloomingdales quality standards?

There is a problem at first sniff. What smells like vinegar is formaldehyde, a result of an incorrectly processed laminate unusually used to create permanent press. The claim is 500 thread count, I have to wonder. However I'm pretty sure the cotton is short staple and subpar quality, hence the need for a laminate. But even with that after one wash, the fibers are already standing up. Thay will pill in no time and you'll be left with uncomfortable unattractive sheets that cost an arm and a leg. Oh, and they'll be non-returnable so do not wash the sheets, if they smell bad, return them.
