I'm 5'3" and 143lbs, I bought the small and it fits perfectly. Not too long either. You will need Cakes or some other strapless bra. The fabric is 100% cotton, soft and breathable. There is a poly lining so you can't see through it. It washes great minimal shrinkage. It does require a steam press or ironing after washing.

Did Not Work for Me
First, this dress is nicely constructed, has a decent lining, and the pleating at the bust is charming. LOVE the fabric! On the model, the dress looks great but on me (big boobs), the empire waist didn't work and cut across the midline of my bosom. Yuck! The shoulder straps were so long and if I could have altered it, they'd have taken off a couple of inches. If you look at the photo of the model (side view), you'll see how the dress balloons out in the bodice. Add an ample bosom to that profile and you'll look like a balloon.

Beautiful Dress
Beautiful, crisp yet pliable cotton fabric. So pretty on! Fits perfectly. I'm 6' tall, 170 lbs, 38DD bust, size Large, like 10-12, and it zips up easily. So glad I got it, plus it was on sale!
