Ruggedly handsome and versatile

This is my 3rd Garmin (Fenix 5S, Vevo, Instinct). I am a big fan of Garmin. I love the look of the Instinct 3 Solar and the features are great. The UI does take some getting used to (and after two weeks, I'm still working on it). Also, I wish it was easier to get out of sleep mode temporarily (say at 1am). Garmin also offers an extensive offering of custom watch bands, which I am utilizing. The watch may be a bit heavy for some folks, but it is a rugged version and none of my nits should stop anybody from considering the Instinct watch from the excellent Garmin brand. In about 17 days, the battery life has gone down 13 days, so the solar seems to be working to extend its operating length.

A wonderful tool that is a solid platform to use and to collect key details of activities throughout the day with a battery life that is easy the best. Love this watch.

Simple but powerdul

I didn’t know if I would like the buttons as opposed to the touchscreen, but I do. I like the simplicity of the monochrome display. It has everything I need in a watch. I like the battery life! I bought the 50mm size and really like it as well.

nice job garmin!

i love it! the solar is so quick to respond in the sun. the screen is so bright and clear. my only wish was to be able to put a different color ring versus the orange. i like the orange but wish i would have bought the tactical instead with the black band. other than that, i love it.

Inaccurate steps

I like the product….but the steps are not working correctly. If I’m pushing a shopping cart in a store it won’t track my steps, but it will track steps if I’m sitting at desk and I move my arms. This is inaccuracy that is hard for me to wrap my mind around.

Great for the back country

Took this on a 6 day backpack trip. The torch and the compass are awesome. The solar was strong enough that my battery level actually increased a couple days.

Dog Tracker

Bought this new Instinct to replace my old 5yr old Instinct. Battery seemed to die fairly quickly on my old unit. Primarily bought this new unit for time, date and tracking my bird dogs in the field during the field competition.
