Bought this from Macy's in 2016- Anmut Villeroy Boch is beautiful, feels good to hand, distinctive while still traditional, and holds up after repeated dishwasher use. After four years I take delight in it every day when setting the table.

Thrilled with my Anut china purchase.
Ordered 6 place settings, minus the cups and saucers. Beautiful, sturdy, and a nice weight. Used the free ground shipping, which took a week to travel cross-country, and the box was pretty torn up.... but the china was completely perfect due to the good packing.

beautiful and durable
I've owned my Anmut dishes for 4 years and they're as beautiful today as the day they arrived. Not a single dish has chipped or cracked. I wanted one set of dishes that would work for both everyday use and for special occasions and Anmut has fit the bill perfectly. These dishes look fantastic on my table at Thanksgiving and they work great for a weekday breakfast. Because they're white they go with everything, so I can pick any tablecloth, serving dishes, napkins or other table accessories I want to fit the occasion and I know it will look great with my dishes. They wash up well in the dishwasher, they're thin and light so they're easy to load and unload from the dishwasher. They stack well so they fit in my cupboard easily. I cannot recommend these dishes highly enough. I'm in my 30s, my mother, in her late 60s, recently told me that she wishes she'd picked these dishes when she got married because if she had she'd still be using them today. Instead she's been through many different sets of dishes in her lifetime, including some other dishes from Villeroy & Boch which have served her well but aren't as durable as the bone china these Anmut dishes are made with.

Classic Simple Elegance
Villeroy & Boch's Anmut is a classic white bone china. Simple, very elegant,Light weight but strong without being too thick and clunky like some other china. Another plus is the color of the white there is just the right hint of warmth to the white of V&B's bone china is a softer white. but still white. Spode is a little too cold (slightly bluish by comparison), some brands have a slightly grey effect, and others are a bit too warm (almost a yellow cast to the color).I'm replacing a Lenox set and just the feel of this V&B china feels much nicer to me there is a smoothness thats hard to describe but its felt when you touch them and when these are held up to the light there's a slight translucency like the older high quality china.
