Let down

These are quite nice out of the box. A bit lighter when compared to the dessert plates which are similar diameter. Beautiful gold hallmark on the back. Unfortunately (despite claims of scratch resistance from the manufacturer), the central black medallion shows scratches after first use. I was expecting to be able to use a spoon with these without immediately damaging the finish.
