I bought this to have a duffel bag to take on my trip to Rome, and it has been a great purchase. It easily fits in the overhead bin of the plane. The bottom compartment stores two pairs of shoes (maybe three if you have small feet) and I was easily able to pack five days' worth of summer outfits, toiletries, chargers, a small crossbody bag, AND a book. So far, the construction seems sturdy, and the bag itself is a classy color. I have'nt used the shoulder strap yet, though it does come with one, because the handles have been long enough by themselves to hoist it on my shoulder. Just watch your posture doing that.
