Can’t get the Beats 4 to hook up
I bought this receiver 4or 5 years ago and love it most of the time. Mine overheats I think easily and powers down I able to turn it right back on but is frustrating. I also have hooked my receiver with Bluetooth which is awesome. I have not been able to do the same with my Beats4 headphones. Please help me if you can. Thanks

We are, however, very sorry to hear about the two frustrating issues you're running into: the intermittent shutdown due to suspected overheating and the connection trouble with your Beats4 headphones. We certainly want you to enjoy your unit reliably. Here are some insights and troubleshooting steps for both concerns: 1. Overheating and Shutdown When a receiver powers down and can be immediately turned back on, it often indicates the internal protection circuit is activating. While this circuit is designed to protect the unit from damage, it usually points to one of two things: Ventilation: This is the most common cause. Please ensure the receiver has at least 6 inches of clearance on the top and sides. If it's enclosed in a cabinet or entertainment center, it can trap heat quickly. Try operating the receiver outside of the cabinet to see if the issue goes away. Speaker Load: Check that your speaker impedance (measured in ohms) is within the specifications listed in the receiver's manual). Using speakers with very low impedance can cause the receiver to work too hard and trigger the protection circuit. 2. Bluetooth Connection with Beats4 Headphones The STRDH590’s Bluetooth is designed for receiving audio (e.g., streaming music to the receiver from your phone or tablet). It is not designed to transmit audio to wireless Bluetooth headphones. We appreciate your loyalty to Sony over the years. Nice and powerful
I've had my unit for about a year now and everything was great until yesterday. My receiver would go into protection mode and turn off. I've tried all the fixes in the trouble shooting guide and now I hope I get my receiver repaired or warranty from what I understand covers my units issue. That has been the only problem so far. For the money it's still worth the $$$. The should quality is very crisp and clean. I'm running all Sony tower speakers for surround center Sony and sub. I'm giving 4 stars because its a newer unit with newer technology but shouldn't break in less than a year. I had an old Kenwood 5.1 system for 28 years never a glitch. I think Sony quality should be better than that but electronics can have issue's.

Did not live up to expectations
This amplifier was very disappointing. Driving two outdoor polk audio speakers. Had to run a fan and it still shut down. Only on 50 volume level. Overheated on a wire shelf.

Quality Product.
I bought this receiver a month ago and it has plenty of features and power. The only thing I wish it had would be bass and tremble knobs on the front panel instead of the tv display to make your adjusts but it's no deal breaker for the price.

its ok
I purchase this fto connect with my 75” sony ty. When you turn off tv the reciever turns back on sometimes. you turn back off and it turns back on

Malfunctioning After A Year Of Use
Bought this a little over a year ago for Christmas 2023. Right around this past Christmas (2024), it began to malfunction by switching to PROTECT mode after being on for a few minutes, and then shutting off automatically. None of the troubleshooting procedures for this problem helped and in fact when all speakers and other components were completely disconnected, the problem still occurred. So Sony support said they would repair it under warranty. I was fine with that so I sent it in to United Audio to be repaired. The latest update on the repair status says that the unit is "not repaired-parts needed are not available." So a product that is still being offered as a new item cannot be repaired because parts are not available. Great. Now I have a useless receiver that lasted a little over a year, that I have to recycle. Very disappointed because I really have liked my past Sony purchases.
