A LOT of heavy fabric in the legs
Waist and butt fit great, true to size. The pants legs are comically huge. I have several pairs of barrel jeans and I like the comfort and the style, but these legs are way too wide, like at least double the width of the others (if not more.) It’s a heavy denim fabric too. That’s good if you don’t like the pocket lining showing on the outside, but not worth the tailoring required to make these flattering.

Wanted to Love
I LOVE Free People's Good Luck Barrels. I own several pair of the Good Luck Barrel's and I must say the sizing is off on every one of them. I am generally a 27, and compared to my first ever pair from Free People, all of my subsequent pairs fit differently in the same size; some are less baggy and some are shorter. So even though I order a 27 I never know how it's going to fit. I ordered a 28 in these because they were out of 27's and I assumed the 28's would fit really roomy because again, all of my 27s fit differently but stil fit. When I got these and tried them on, they fit even smaller than my 27's. The waist has no extra room at all and the length is extemely cropped. I am extremely fed up with Free People and this issue. It's bad enough each pair is at least $98, but now I can't even be certain of how they are going to fit even after being a long time customer. Needless to say, because the fit is so inconsistent, I am sending them back and I am done buying their Barrels.

These are button fly (not zip) and run two sizes large. Only two of the five buttons on my pair were functional.. Returned

Misleading description. Orderering online states that the jeans have a zip fly. Very disappointed to receive a pair with a button fly. This is the second pair of pants/shorts I've purchased that doesn't match the description.
