Item is used and wrapped again by Micheal Aram

The piece is really beautiful but it came in a damage box and when I opened it, noticed food stains on it and it was obviously used. Interestingly it came from Micheal Aram itself with the plastic wrap intact. Considering that I thought it is a new piece, however when I opened it, I was sure this had been used but wrapped again. I bought this to give as a gift and I am glad I open to check it before trusting the plastic wrap. This is unacceptable and I don’t know where is the quality check of Micheal Aram!?
