Too firm for me

I was not able to try out this mattress before purchasing, but anything would have been better than the cheap mattress I bought in a hurry for my guest room a few years ago, so I decided to would take my chances. When I briefly laid down on it out after it was delivered, I thought it felt pretty good, but after trying to spend the night on it, I woke up after a few hours with my back hurting, so I went back to my own bed. I called today to return the mattress and order another one that is described as Medium Firm. Mattress firmness is such a personal preference that I don't want to denigrate this mattress for that, but I do want to mention that it is not 9" thick, it's only 7". I don't think that matters for comfort, but on a platform bed like mine, it makes for a pretty low bed. And, returns are not free; there's a pickup fee and 15% charge, though the rep I talked to was able to waive that. Very disappointing, when I was buying another mattress that costs $3,000!

An ok value.

Very hard to shop for a mattress online. I went into the Bloomies store but all the selection on the floor were high end. The sales person said Shifman was one of their best brands & I liked another model I tried that was over budget. This one is just ok for the value. Its very firm but has some "wiggle" from the springs when getting up or down from it.
