Beautiful piece but terrible assembly instructions

The bookcase is lovely but it was very difficult to assemble. The assembly instructions did not make much sense. The instructions have you build the bookcase from the inside out, essentially, but the pieces are not very sturdy and a rather iffy quality (I was surprised by this given the price) so we needed to ignore the instructions at times. The back piece of the bookcase is made of rather flimsy material but the design is relying on it to prevent the bookcase from shifting around too much which does not seem ideal for a piece of future intended to serve as a bookcase in a kid's room. We will likely need to reinforce the pieces in addition to anchoring it to ensure there isn't a safety issue. Frankly, I am disappointed in the quality of the piece given that it is not a cheap piece.
