Short Life Span

This is a great slow cooker; however, it has a short life. I planned on cooking a meal using this week and it is totally dead.

Insert bubbled

I was so happy with this product until the insert started to bubble. The coating literally started to look like it was cooking. Then it "popped " and is peeling. That can't be food safe, right? I am super careful to never use metal utensils so It would not scratch but still. I do love all of my other All-Clad products however I will not be purchasing another slow cooker from All-Clad as they won't even replace the insert.

I love mine! I have the 7 quart. I like that I can braise meat on the stove top before using the slow cook option.

I’ve had it for over 10 years

I’ve owned mine over 10 years. I’m not sure why there are so many negative reviews, I absolutely love mine. It still looks brand new and I use it a lot in fall and winter, at least once a week if not more. I use it on the stovetop to sear meat or brown ground beef before I finish it in the crock pot. I never use metal servingware and clean it right away. I make sure it’s completely dry before I put it away or I leave the top off. Well worth the investment.

Great slow cooker

Love this slow cooker and use it often. However, like several others, the bottom has started to peel, so I no longer consider it safe to use. Is there an improved insert which I could purchase?

Nonstick finish doesn’t last

The nonstick coating on the insert bubbled up and is flaking off and contaminating my food. I’m unable to find a replacement. So this very expensive slow cooker is now useless. All Clad will not warrantee the nonstick finish on the insert.

Physics Matters

The all ceramic slow cooker insert finally failed us. UNFORTUNATELY, All-Clad no longer makes the insert. Rather the company offered to sell us a "cast aluminum" with a ceramic coating replacement. No bueno :( Thermal mass is critical in slow cooking.

Beautiful piece!

This slow cooker is easy on the eyes, and easy to operate. I've had the 4 quart version for over 10 years now, and never had the issues that others seemed to have had; not a bubble, not a scratch. I've only used silicone tools, and hand-washed it. Still looks brand new inside and out. Wanted the larger version for entertaining. If you take care of it, it will take care of you! Love this thing!
