Too powerful, too dominant

I was curious to explore Tom Ford fragrances and chose Oud Wood blindly because the listed notes sounded elegant and intriguing. However, the experience was completely unexpected. From the first spray, this fragrance took over everything. I’m not sure about its actual sillage, but subjectively, it felt overwhelming — as if nothing else existed around me except this scent. It’s strong, bold, and, oppressive. It lasted on my skin for many hours, and instead of warming up or softening, it remained intense and almost harsh. To my nose, it leans more masculine than unisex — but even then, I don’t think I’d want my partner to smell like this. I feel this fragrance suits someone with a very strong presence: confident, bold, assertive, and not afraid to dominate a room. It has personality, but for me, it was simply too much. I’m glad I tried it, but it’s not a scent I would ever wear again.

Subtle but very sexy

First want to comment on the atomiser itself. Its very tactile smooth shiny and perfect size to slip in a pocket or bag. The top is magnetic and the inside slips out for refilling. My only issue is that as far as im aware TF doesnt provide refills like other brands like Kilian. I suppose you could unscrew and spray from another bottle but at the price i would be loathed to do this as hard not to spray down outside of bottle. The fragrance itself is very unisex. Its a nice spicy wood well rounded so its more cocooning rather in your face.
