Skis not compatible for use with bike hitch

I bought kit so I could use it both for xc ski and fatbike. I used to have an older chariot cx1 that I skied and biked with, but unfortunately it is now impossible with the new ski model to install the bike hitch at the same time. It coild be possible if the hitch pole was about 2 inches longer, but doesn’t fit as is. Also, compared to the older version, yes it is looking nicer, but clearly you can smell the programmed obsolescence by a mile. The older model was all aluminum, but on the new one, there are a lot of small plastic part that will surely break. Very disapointing for me

Terrible - money back now!

This product as other reviews is not made for the chariot 2 - it will not mount to the stroller wheel mechanism. Super disappointing and complete waste of money and time- was a Christmas gift for the family - they have used the wrong stock of aluminum tubing to have this properly and easily assemble - I had to use a screwdriver to disassemble the wheel mount to take the piece out after jamming it in in belief that they couldn’t have possibly brought to market something so inherently wrong and flawed. But they have - THULE - UNSAFE - YOU OWE ME A NEW SKI SET THAT WORKS - ALSO COULDNT ADD PHOTOS

Unfortunately a poor re-design

I am writing this in the hopes it helps someone! I have used both the old system and this new one. I was excited by the Cross 2 because it uses more sustainable and safer fabric materials, but unfortunately the new cross country ski set up is really bad. 1) there is now a single point of attachment behind the small of your back. The old set up had two bars that connected at the waist belt on either side of your hips. This new attachment in the small of your back has sort of a spring and it bounces as you pull. It is highly annoying and uncomfortable, and on bumpy terrain I think it is actually dangerous in that it can push you off balance (this is coming from a very experienced skier). The old system was so much smoother to pull and way way less bouncing 2) the set up takes longer. The old system was a simple click in and this requires several more steps. 3) in the old system if you removed the waist strap and set it down the whole chariot would tip forward so the front is touching the snow. This was actually nice as it provided a natural brake system if you were switching who was pulling or taking a break. Because the new system remains flat all the time the chariot is at risk of sliding away from you if you ever remove the waist band. It is perhaps a small thing but if you are skiing with a partner and are switching back and forth on anything but perfectly flat terrain, it is annoying. It is really unfortunate that the re-design created problems that didn't exist before. I really hope Thule re-thinks this before phasing out the first version completely! I do recommend the chariot overall and I love cross country skiing so I think it is great Thule has ski kits, and Thule is a good company in general, but if you are deciding between models go with the older version if you can!

Great!

Works as intended, easy set up, the spring with the lock behind the waistband is a bit stupid. Otherwise much better than the old system because it doesn't pivot on the ski insert, it can hold itself straight and not tilt into the ground. The one star review is bogus, guy just bought the wrong setup or doesn't install in proper order.

Recommends this product

Horrible installation process

I just bought the ski kit with the single pole to pull. I had to unscrew the screws under the fittings to be able to fit the sliding attachement in the ski spot and the click hole withiut any click. Could barely fit the piece in the hole without forcing it like crazy and really hard to undo everything. Skis seems fine. We have the bike kit and the jogging kit and everything fit really well. This one doesnt seem to be built for the Sport 2

Could not install

I recently purchased this Ski Adapter Kit for our double cross 2 and unfortunately had a very frustrating experience with it. We could not install the skis to the chariot- the part that installed where the back wheels secure was east enough but the The poles simply wouldn’t slide into the slots properly. I had to force them in, and even then, they wouldn’t click in securely ( just jammed in to fit the hole at all) , leaving me feeling like the product was incompatible with my setup. Compared to other Thule adapters, like the bike adapter, this one was a nightmare to install. It felt like I had the completely wrong product for my cross 2. It’s disappointing because Thule is usually known for their quality and ease of use, but this adapter just didn’t live up to expectations. I would not recommend this kit based on my experience which is too bad.
