Surround sound not working with Bravia 8 Smart TV.

I purchased the soundbar and subwoofer, which were delivered in September. The surround sound does not work, and I only get sound from the TV. I could have saved a lot of money by just using the TV speakers.

Absolutely a game changer

This is the first sound bat I ever had. When I turned it on, omg, it blew my mind. I played Pirates of the Caribbean, it sounded like the pirates were literally singing next to me. And the soundtrack quality improves so much that I felt like being in the theater. This is absolutely a great buy if you watch TV at home. Also, my daughter loves to watch Ms Rachel on it too😂

You are missing out without it

It’s one of those things like … I didn’t realize how bad my sight had been until I had started wearing contacts. Same here. You don’t think you need it until you try it and you can’t go back to boring, flat sound. I love how it has upgraded our movie nights, Netflix sessions, sports and even the voices when we watch the news. Installation was super easy and it just connects to my Apple TV remote though I can pick more specific settings in the app as well.

Clearly hear everything!

The Sony Bravia theater bar has been a great addition to our bedroom set up. I love that you can use it as a Bluetooth speaker and play music from your phone. It’s nice being able to play ambient music quietly and still hear the vocals or clarity. The sound bar is great for hearing quiet voices amidst loud sound effects during movies too!

Dialog not clear

I bought this to go with the Bravia 7 Mini LED which is terrific. I knew this soundbar had center channel synch with the TV so that would be helpful to create clear dialog. Unfortunately the dialog is much more difficult to hear with the sound bar attached. Even with voice turned up to maximum and tuned for the room dialog was not great. I thought maybe it was just me, but I bought another soundbar and dialog is clear as a bell. I moved the Sony Theatre Bar 8 to a bedroom TV with no soundbar. My wife and I both agree the built in TV speaker is has much clearer dialog.

This sound bar had been the perfect gift for my husbands Sunday football. The sound on here is excellent. Love the sleek design. Definitely worth the money as it makes watching anything on my old tv so much better.

Solid sound quality

Overall, the Sony Bravia Theater Bar 8 is great! Solid sound quality, it calibrates to your room, simple design. It did take me some to figure out setting up/connecting it to my non-smart TV but once I did, it’s been elevating my experience watching shows and listening to music on Spotify. Highly recommend downloading the Bravia Connect app BEFORE turning on and attempting to connect it on your own. The app walks you step by step on connecting and calibrating. One slight inconvenience has been having to manually switch back and forth between TV audio and the Bravia Theater Bar 8 when I turn on my TV- this might be my TV issue since it’s not a smart TV.

Sony HT-A8000 Bar 8 Soundbar

After so much from Sony this year that turned out to be as good as they promised, the decision to do my latest soundbar as Sony was an easy choice to make. it was an easy choice to make. I chose the Bar 8 as opposed to the Bar 9 because of my small room size. Once again it turns out to be pure perfection. Great sound, it absolutely does everything that their product description says it will do. Plus, as Sony has proven before the level of service from their staff was equally impressive. I have it with the optional subwoofer and now intending to add the RS5 rear speakers.
