Disappointed

Failed. Offered 20% off coupon but light is not even sold on their website, so can't even replace it with coupon if I wanted to. Planned obselecence. Can't be fixed. Is a bunch of wasteful plastic now. Love the concept and loved when it worked. But useless now.

Pricey but for me it's a great help to get up

I have really poor hearing without my hearing aids so this alarm with the sunrise feature is a real blessing for me.Worth the price for me

Excellent Night Light

Extremely happy with my purchase. I was in the market for a wake-up light and after doing some research, decided to go for this one. It is pricey but the benefits outweigh the price for me. The gentle gradient of both sunrise and sunset is quite pretty. The speaker is not the greatest but does the job, I wouldn't listen to music through it. I personally wanted a wake-up light without any smartphone connectivity and this one is provides all the features and customization without any smart connectivity. The menu is fairly easy to navigate with distinct icons, just had to read the manual once. This wake-up light really transformed my bedtime and wakeup routine for the better.

This is an elegant and soothing product.

I haven’t learned all its functions yet but its main function to gently wake you up is very effective. It provides a warm glow light of I need to get up in the night. Once I fully understand how to use its full range of functions I will probably be able to rate it five stars.

Average wake up lamp

Touch sensitive buttons are OK when wide awake and fully co-ordinated. However, if awake before alarm, have to fumble about through 3 sets of menu and touch correct symbols to switch on the radio. Very difficult to see icons when lying in bed without glasses. After struggling to do all these things through a sleepy haze, the wake up lamp does the job. Maybe that is the strategy to get one fully awake.

It does what it is supposed to do

The light itself functions very well, it is nice and bright at full brightness and has a warming glow on the wake up. The menu for the functions are quite confusing and I am still not used to it now after a few months, I thought I ordered the newer one with app functionality but realised it was a more expensive version for that model. It has some nice features like waking to radio if needed. My score is probably 3.5 as it is expensive considering the interface this day and age, I was thinking of returning the light but decided to keep it instead as could not be bothered returning.

If you're like me and struggle over the winter months to wake up before the sun is up, you're going to LOVE this alarm. I wake up feeling alert, refreshed and ready to start my day!

Overpriced for such a poorly engineered product

I received this as a birthday gift from a family member. It is impossible to get a decent radio signal on this device, which randomly appears to lose tuning over time. Living in a large UK city, I am unable to even reliably tune to a main national radio broadcast (BBC Radio 4), and so sometime wake up to static. Horrible. For this price, this product should be a DAB device at the very least. Over-enthusiastic 'value engineering' has resulted in a good idea being very poorly executed, leading to consequent poor user experience. What happened to the 'customer delight' that Philips Design used to talk about? There is none of it in this product. As this was a gift — and not wishing to inflict it on a family member — I have donated mine to a charity shop. A real disappointment and, frankly, a wasted design opportunity. What is up with Philips? Not at all the experience I was expecting of a Philips product. A real shame.
