Absolutely perfect Christmas gift
My boyfriend and I are both huge tea & coffee drinkers - with Fellow Stagg EKG Electric Kettle being the top of the line kettle, we both accidentally gifted each other this exact kettle. And we both love our kettles! There is no better way to start the day than with a sophisticated brew with a high tech Fellow kettle.

High quality, very functional, and good looking
I previously had the stovetop kettle and decided to upgrade to the electric model. The black and walnut version looks purposeful and professional. I use it mainly for making pour over coffee and tea. It pours very smoothly and precisely which helps me make a very balanced cup of coffee. Set up was easy, it heats up very quickly, and I like the built in temperature presets.

Not worth it.
After my last gooseneck kettle finally died I decided to splurge. The Fellow is unequivocally worse at actually being a kettle than much cheaper options. It boils more slowly. The chime is too quiet so you can’t hear it from the other room, yet it goes off every time it reaches temperature so it chimes every time you do a pour and place it back on the base. The materials on the studio version don’t feel nearly as premium as they should. The metal dial and glass top both feel like plastic and far cheaper than the price tag suggests. Even the pouring spout doesn’t work well. It puts fine until unless you go slightly too steep an angle (coincidentally the exact angle the handle suggests you pour at) — then the flow completely breaks and it spatters hot water everywhere, splashing you coffee out of your V60 and staining your work shirt. It’s ok overall, and obviously looks nice from afar. But for this price I expected all of these details to be done right. Very disappointed.

A nessesity (sort of)
I have had a Stagg EKG for 5 years and used it several times a day. It stopped working finally. Possibly due to too submerged with a cleaning. (Not supposed to do that). Had to replace it ASAP as it is so good for pourovers and correct tea temperatures.

Great kettle but analog clock feature is problematic
This electric kettle does everything it's supposed to do, and does it well. I really like the performance, design, and features. The ability to set temperature by the individual degree is valuable to me. I also like how fast it heats up, and I like the small rubber feet that enable me to set the kettle directly on on the counter. One feature that could use some tweaking is the analog clock. The hour hand doesn't move at all(!) until the next hour is reached. For example, a time like 5:55 looks like 4:55 because the hour hand is still on the 5. Then when it turns to 6:00 the hour hand moves to the 6. Perhaps whoever designed this feature doesn't know how an analog clock works.
