    Baccarat Rouge 540 is a universal, luminous and intense fragrance with woody ambery floral notes, a one-of-a-kind condensed olfactory signature with a long-lasting sillage.

    Inspired by the 250th anniversary of Baccarat, Francis Kurkdjian wanted to convey the poetic alchemy of crystal-making in this woody ambery floral fragrance, imagining a unique creation based on 3 'auras'.

    In the top notes, the breezy facets of jasmine flowers and the radiance of saffron evoke the aura of air. They are highlighted by an accord evoking ambergris and dry woody tones, embodying the mineral aura. Lastly, the aura of fire is suggested by the addictive sensuality of ethyl maltol, a note with gourmand facets.

Beautiful but not on my skin

I can understand why other people love this fragrance, but for some reason it doesn’t suit me/my skin. I feel it ends up being too intense, heavy, and sweet - but I will add I have received compliments for it so I think it all comes down to personal taste. It has fantastic staying power and a tiny little bit goes a very long way. I think if I smelled it on the right person, I’d love it.

For me, this scent was too strong. Such fragrances are not suitable for me personally. But my grandmother really loved this scent. It is incredibly long-lasting. And on mature skin, it unfolds into a beautiful combination of aromas.
