Too Drying for My Hair — Disappointing Results
I really wanted to love the Oribe Maximista Thickening Spray, but unfortunately, it just didn’t work for me. While it did add some volume and lift at the roots, it left my hair feeling dry, rough, and a bit brittle by the end of the day. For something marketed as a thickening spray, I was hoping for more body without the crunch. The scent is lovely — very “Oribe” — and the packaging is gorgeous, but the formula seems too drying for my fine, virgin, slightly frizzy hair. I’ve had much better results with other volumising products that don’t compromise softness. Sadly, this one’s a miss for me.

Real volume and strength that lasts
I am 36 years old, have never dyed my hair, and was not asked or incentivized by Oribe to write this review. I waited to share my thoughts until I had used this Oribe trio for about three months: the Hair Alchemy Fortifying Treatment Serum, the Supershine Moisturizing Cream, and the Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oil. I wanted to be sure the results were real, especially given the price, and they are absolutely worth every penny. I have used Oribe’s Maximista Thickening Spray for years, and now I start applying the Hair Alchemy Fortifying Treatment Serum and the Supershine Moisturizing Cream once my hair is no longer soaking wet, just damp. Then I layer on the Maximista Thickening Spray before styling with my Dyson Airwrap. Once my hair is styled, I finish with a few drops of the Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oil for extra shine and softness. My hair is thin but wavy, and this routine has completely changed how it looks and feels. It is the healthiest and longest it has been in years, and I finally feel confident growing it out. People constantly ask if I am taking Nutrafol (I am not). My hair is smoother, fuller, and glossier than ever, and it smells incredible. These products have turned doing my hair into a true luxury self care ritual.

Multitasking and Effective!
Have been using Maximista for years and love it. I’ve been considering switching to cheaper products, but this is one of the ones that holds me back. It’s a multitasking choice for anyone who wants more volume and thickness since it also provides heat protection and decreases dry time (and it really does!). And, importantly, it makes my fine, average thickness hair HUGE when I blow dry upside down.

Lasting
This thickening spray is a must have and I love how it holds my hair and makes it appear so much thicker. It’s a great product with a great scent and i love how long it lasts.
