love the strap.. couldn’t make it fit!

I loved this watch and for many years, and wore it every day because it took the Apple watch and made it look special. I lost it recently when I switched my watch strap for a change and ordered a new one! But I couldn’t make it small enough to fit securely on my wrist so my watch would not work!! Any suggestions? I would very much appreciate any and all support!!!!
