Won't stay locked it...unsafe.
I have had this glass bowl for about 2 years now but have only tried to use it a couple times. I have gone back to the stainless steel bowl my mixer came with. The glass bowl seems to lock in place but then as soon as I start mixing anything it spins around and unlocks from the bottom. I have checked the bottom and it looks fine (no chips or anything) and the metal bottom of the mixer seems fine. My other bowl locks it with no issues. Very unsafe as I'm afraid it will shatter.

Image is not what you will receive.
Product does not match the image. The actual product does not include the lower collar. Without it the bowl continually comes loose from the base of the mixer.

I hate to give this low review… absolutely love my glass mixing bowl. Yesterday I noticed a large crack along the bottom ring. Wasn’t leaking. But when I attached it back to my kitchen aid it just completely broke the bottom of and ended up shattering. Didnt even get my hand off it before it broke and cut me… Only had it for about 2-3months

New bowl design without metal base broke
This is my second glass bowl, the first one was great because it had a metal base that fit into the mixer. I dropped it and it broke. I bought a replacement 5 qt glass bowl and it no longer has a metal base. It did not seem like it fit well into the bottom from the start and part of the base chipped off while I was making bread. The bowl spun around clanking on the dough hook. I am lucky the whole thing didn't shatter. It is no longer useable because the base does not lock in.

Buyer Beware
Loved this bowl until it shattered while mixing. It seemed small pieces went everywhere and I had to throw all my ingredients. Creaming butter and sugar should not shatter a mixing bowl.

Glass mixing bowl best buy yet!
I have absolutely loved using my new glass mixing bowl from KitchenAid!! It’s my first time using a glass bowl and have found it a lot more practical as it helps me keep my eye on my dough or whatever else I am mixing to ensure I’m not over beating it. Great buy and I will buy again!!

Not worth it
Got this 3 months ago, broke today after soaking it in the sink with soapy water. Now has a large crack running through half the circumference and up through the rim. As others have said, poor quality for what it should be able to handle.
