Day cream is pilling

I've been using Estee Lauder products for more that 15 years. This one was a disappointment. Resilience Multi-Effect (SPF 15) in this set was not what I expected. The creme did not absorb properly every time I used it. I was not able to wear my regular makeup after applying it. It left a white residue and started to pill off and resulted in flakes and globs. I tried it in many ways and also asked a friend to try it. Same result! Unfortunately, I was not able to return the product that I paid over $100 for.
