Damaged from Use One
Received a set of D3 All Clad pans for my birthday a week ago. Used it for the first time yesterday to boil water and cook pasta. There are white spots everywhere, on the bottom of the pan and on the sides. Nothing will get rid of them, not vinegar, not baking soda, not BKF. It appears to be permanent damage. From boiling water. Is this for real? Expensive and waste of money. I won't even use the other pans now if I have to babysit them just boiling water. I've had pots from HomeGoods for years that have not done this. Unfortunately, I threw the boxes out and have no proof of purchase, so I'm stuck with these. All I keep hearing about these is that you buy it once and it lasts for life and look the same as the day you got them. Are these no longer made with the same quality as they used to be? Because this can't be real.

Great pan!
Love this pan! Weight on it is great and it heats evenly and fast. The handle is a little longer than I am used to but it works great!

Quality sauce pan. Steamer insert for 3qt pans not compatible.
Quality sauce pan that works very well with induction stoves. These D3 sauce pans now have a flared rim with makes pouring a little less messy, but they are not going to allow fine control over pouring; they simply make it less messy when you are pouring the whole pan from one place to another (such as when draining all of the water or transferring from one pot to another). This is not an issue for me as with a pan this size I am not expecting to be pouring small amounts. You would need a pan with a spout in the rim which creates other problems. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that this pan doesn't work well with the All-Clad steamer insert for 3qt pans that is still available on the market, which was clearly designed for pans that did not have a flared rim and there's no obvious replacement for that part, making the "set" feel incomplete. But, the pan itself is 5/5.
