Left my face quite red

The gel texture of this face mask feels really fresh when you apply it, making it a lovely one for a bath. The herby scent is really nice too and a little goes a long way. It leaves the skin hydrated, as promised. So why the 3 stars? Every time I've used it, I end up with a really red face after, making it only really good before bed. It settles, but it's not really what I want from a face mask.

Burned my skin

I got a sample of this mask and I must say it is really bad. It started tingling me after having it on my face for 5-10 minutes. I washed immediately however the damage was already done - so now I am with a burning sensation and red skin all over my face. A more thorough testing of such products should be done! PS. I do not have sensitive skin

Not a mask...

I bought the full-size after trying a sample and won't be buying it again. It's nice, but nothing special. Absorbs into my skin so no need to tissue off, so is more like a moisturiser than a mask. I wouldn't say it's particularly moisturising either, the texture is nice but the smell is a bit odd although not unpleasant.

Disappointed

I have super dry skin so I am always looking for a burst of hydration. I heard great things about it online. It was easy to apply and felt nice on the skin. However, I didn’t notice any difference at all. I used the whole bottle thinking it might have a cumulative effect, but no! If you have normal skin it might be worth it.

nice smell and gel like mask

I got a sample of this Aesop product. It smells good (though not like chamomile) and carry a gel like texture. The most interesting part is that it is recommended to be used for 30 minutes. It indeed absorb well and did not dry out like a clay mask. I am not sure if I will buy it but the texture is really good for the summer time.

Hydrating

This is a nice light hydrating masque by Aesop, the texture is like a watery gel which makes it easy to quickly apply in the evening or if having a lazy morning before carrying on with the rest of your skincare routine. I really expected to love this as I am all about hydration but despite niacinamide being high on the inci list I didn't notice any brightening or anything else apart from a bit of a burst of hydration. It is a nice pleasant mask to use but it is not extraordinary. I also found it smelled a bit like menthol which I did not expect or particularly enjoy.

Not hydrating enough and stung

I have used and loved other Aesop products, and I’m ALL about hydration....so I was quite excited to receive a large sample of this to try. Sadly it is not for me. It is a thin gel which when applied, even in a thick layer, sank into my skin quickly.....there was nothing there after 6 mins let alone the 30 mins Aesop’s instructions say to leave this on and tissue off any excess - no excess at all! It also stung a little, or tingled, and my skin is not sensitive and experienced no sensitivity to any other products so I didn’t have a compromised skin barrier. There was something in this which my skin didn’t like. I tried a few times, and ended up using it up on my hands.

not bad

This is not a bad masque in any way. Ingredients all good but somehow the effect is just not really there. I left it on for 30 minutes and it did leave my skin comfortable but for the price there are a lot more options that would give much better effect.
