So soft but so small

I bought the size 12/14 for my 10 year old. She is tall for her age so I size up one... she needs like a 16 in this brand. She won't let me return them because they are so soft but they are skin tight which is a problem for thin white pajamas. Go two sizes up unless your child is tiny or a twig. Mine is normal sized- fit from sports but not chubby or scrawny.
