All stainless steel kitchen tools
Wanting to replace my rubber plastic kitchen utensils after reading you shouldn’t use them for safety reasons, I noticed the stainless steel set in a nice holder and I bought it. Looks great on the counter and works well but is it a myth- are the rubber plastic ones not safe ? I have some good brand products including caphalon. Inquiring minds want to know -so I didn’t throw them out- they’re tucked away in my pantry but this product rocks thank you, Bloomingdale’s

Utensils for the Win; Utensil Holder, not so much.
After owning this kitchen utensil set for two years, I wanted to write an honest review of my experience. The utensils themselves are reliable and durable. I haven’t had any issues so far with any of the utensils that I’ve purchased, and all still hold up to OXO-level quality. Admittedly, I use some utensils more than others based on my cooking habits: 12-Inch Locking Tongs, Lasagna Turner, Pizza Wheel, Whisk, Serving Spoon, Slotted Spoon, etc. All of which have held up over the years and are very durable. However, I can’t bring myself to give this set 5 stars due to the utensil holder it comes with. I’m planning to keep the utensils but find myself back in the market to find an appropriate utensil holder. In short: the utensil holder is not dishwasher safe and is not large enough to easily hold all of the utensils this set comes with. Unless each utensil is carefully placed into the utensil holder in a specific order, this utensil holder cannot fit all utensils in a functional way. If you are anything like me, you do not typically take the time to organize your kitchen utensils after each use. After grabbing a utensil or two, using them, and washing and drying them, my intent is to place the utensil(s) back into the holder without much organization necessary. That is what typically makes a utensil holder convenient and functional in a home kitchen. However, that typical process does not work with this set. I constantly find myself being unable to fit utensils into their original spot due to the limited space this utensil holder allows. If I am short on time and simply try to place the utensils back into the holder, it looks cluttered and does not fit everything as it should. Utensil holders are typically on display in home kitchens such as rested on the kitchen counter, like mine. Since it is out in the open and was a bit pricy, I hoped it could be a nice stainless steel accent in my kitchen. I’ve resorted to storing some of the OXO utensils in this set in other areas of my kitchen as I use them frequently. Many do not find a cluttered/cramped utensil holder to be visually appealing, and for that reason I won’t consider this holder to be “easy accessible” or any kind of set you can “grab and go” with. As far as the utensils go, I highly recommend them as they are durable and have held up perfectly over the years. However, you may find yourself in the market for a utensil holder after using this one for some time, as you’ll likely find yourself organizing it a few times per week. Some have the time to do this or don’t mind making the time to do so. In the future, I hope this set is re-released with a larger, functional utensil holder.
