A little large and VERY long

I typically love this dress from Norma Kamali - I own it in two colors - but this plum was different and perfect for an autumn event. Unfortunately, even though I would still have to wear a Spanx as usual for my waist and hips, I felt the dress would fall down from the top on a moment's notice, and the length actually began "growing" from the moment my body warmth hit it - I would have to have removed 6 inches to begin with, and then be dragging it around with me all night at the event. I am not a short person - I am nearly 5'9" - but this was too much to have to alter, and the smaller size would have been tastelessly tight on me. Great color, though! - really different, a true plum, not purple, not burgundy. If you can get the right size and wear 5" heels, go for it! Sadly for me, back it went.
