Not what the doctor ordered

Online, this skirt looks beautiful. In person, I loved the fabric, but not the fit or length. I'm 5'7" tall and usually wear a size six and 29 in pants. I ordered a M. The skirt came down to the tops of my ankles and lacked shape. Would a smaller one have fit any better? I don't think so. Back it goes.
