Love this rug!
My husband and I knew it was for us as soon as we saw it. The pattern has a lot going on, so it is best with solid color or tone on tone furnishings. It goes very well with our antiques and we have it in our family room that is a very well lit room. We have dark brown leather sofas and a moss green chenille chair that has a large floral pattern etched into the fabric. It is not thick and we will be adding a pad for comfort as it sits on a travertine floor. It sheds some when you vacuum, but not so much that you have to vacuum noticeably more. A nice bonus is that we have a tri colored beagle whose fur does not show on the rug! Our 9X12 rug arrived folded in a box and took almost a month for the fold marks to relax. Be careful not to stretch it or place furniture on it during this process or you may end up with a rug that is not a true rectangle when it finally flattens. 4 stars for this reason and it could be thicker for comfort and longevity.

Beautiful area rug
Much more beautiful than pictured! The colors are warm and welcoming. This rug fits in perfectly with my Victorain home, but would work well with most styles. I like so much, I am going to buy another! The rug comes with a 20-year warranty, too. Timeless pattern.

Karastan rug
I grew up with the "Orginal Karastan" multipanel kirman area rug on our living room floor. The rug is now at least 65 years old and is in my daughter's home in her living room. There is no wear pattern on it and it looks as good now as it did when I was a child. I have one on my living room floor and am about to buy another one for the dining room. Hopefully they will be in my granddaughter's home someday and look as good as they do now.

Great Rug
well made, long wearing and no matter what you spill on it, it will blend in somewhere on the rug. Mine still looks great after having it for 15 years!

Elegant
This rug matched very well with our light colored leather furniture. The rich texture feels very smooth and gives a luxurious look. Only caution is that the rug needs to be put in well lighted areas.

So disappointed
I own 2 of these Karastan rugs of different sizes and ordered another for my bedroom. I was so disppointed when the rug arrived and I unrolled it. Yes, the design is the same, however the fringe was a short cheap fringe that almost looked like a nylon! Needless to say it will be going back. It's a beautiful rug but the fringe made the rug look as if I had purchased it at the local hardware store. So very disappointed!

Thank you for your review, Sherry! Karastan decided to shorten their fringe a few years ago in response to customer feedback. The longer fringe was too difficult to maintain and was being "eaten-up" by vacuums! We are very sorry that you were disappointed in the change.
