comfortable at firsts, but...

I bought these for hiking on the wet, muddy, slippery trails on the island of Kaua'i. I should have worn hiking socks, but didn't, and the sides of my big toes began to blister from friction about 1.5 hours into the hike. I wore them again a few days later, with socks, and noticed that the whole outside edge of my right foot felt very uncomfortable, almost as if it was being raised up on the inside of the shoe. After a couple of hours it really began to hurt. Took a day and a half to feel better. The grip/traction on the bottom was good for muddy trails at first, but quickly began to get clogged with mud, which made them less grippy and more slippery, since it reduced traction. Overall they weren't as great as I thought they would be, and I probably won't wear them again, unfortunately. I love Hoka Bondi athletic shoes and I wear them all the time (but with custom orthotics), so I thought these would be amazing, but perhaps I should have tired inserting my custom orthotics into these. OH well.

Same great support but a bit clunky

I was so glad to have a supportive sandal for the summer. My regular Hoka's rock! However, these sandals are very heavy and you need to adjust them so your feet don't slide around. There is a covered toe, which is nice for rocky areas. Would like more air exposure please. And please make them lighter.
