GarminVivomove Luxe Leather Strap Touchscreen Hybrid Smartwatch, 42mm
Product Details
Web ID: 3592172Perfect in many ways but with a few key flaws
I bought this watch as a complement to my existing Fenix 7 watch to wear 90% of the time, mostly as a data collector rather than something to wear during activity. First the positives: I absolutely love the way it looks; it's very clean and discreet which is exactly what I wanted. I don't want to advertise my sporting activities while in the office. I'd honestly prefer it to be a couple of mm smaller, but that's my preference and I have to accept that I'm out of step with the times on that front. It still fits neatly under my shirt cuff which is the most important thing. Given that I wear this for passive data collection, it does everything that I need it to do (although it's odd it doesn't have its own GPS to me). So what are its flaws? The touchscreen is really hit and miss. Lots of aggressive tapping required to wake it up sometimes but once you've got its attention it works just fine. Why doesn't it have a button? Every classic watch has a crown and so I'd have included one here - it would save a lot of wasted jabbing and also provide an intuitive navigation facility as you move through the watch. Ironically it doesn't backlight or have any illume so telling the time when you wake up in the night is an involved affair - more stabbing and swiping to get to the time screen... it seems unnecessarily complicated for a watch that should be able to do this natively. I'm aware that I could have a digital time on the screen permanently, but I like having some classic looking complications which I think really add to the elegance of the watch. The last flaw is something I have long not understood about Garmin's tech: for a watch that's clearly designed to complement wearing another Garmin at other times, the platform's insistence on having a "primary" data collector seems mad. When would there be overlap between data? Is someone out there wearing two Garmins all the time? Features like body battery can surely operate seamlessly across more than one device without the odd estimates it needs to make instead. Overall, I really love this watch and it fulfills its role in my life beautifully. A few (common sense) upgrades would make it incredibly impressive, but it's a Garmin so frustrating limitations are part of its DNA.

Beautiful watch, way overpriced for what it is
I do like it, it's a nice watch to swap my Fenix our for when going to any sort of professional or stylish event where the Fenix's clunkiness my be appropriate. That said, its not a great activity tracker, has no GPS, its not a running watch or anything. I can't imagine that anyone would use this as their primary fitness watch which means it is really a second watch, and its a lot of dough to put out for a secondary device. I also cannot understand why they stopped making the silver case-black faced edition. It is drastically easier to read, reading the silver faced watch in any bright setting is near impossible.

The most beautiful activity watch, I have ever see
This watch is so beautiful. It does not look like an activity watch. Together This watch is so beautiful. It does not look like a activity watch. Together with the black leather strap it looks really exclusive. The sensitivity of the touch screen is not impressing. The watch also lacks HRV which I really miss.

New watch, thanks Garmin
for almost two years now my Garmin Vivomove Luxe watch has not been working properly. GPS contact was almost impossible, while walking or switching on bicycles, the software kept crashing. Body Battery function only worked after reset and reinstall. In desperation I asked garmin what else I could do. Within a day I received a message that I was sent a replacement watch. Received yesterday, to my surprise a new watch. And the great thing, it works perfectly! Thanks Garmin!

So far good but stay away from strap
I have been using the smartwatch for several months and it is good. However, the strap that came with it is a disappointment. No amount of cleaning or soaking in detergent will get rid of the stink the strap material produces. Please stay away from the strap.

Stopped working properly after few months
Garmin pay hangs for most of terminals. Watches suddendly hang without a possibility to reboot them (need a cable to restart). Poor display quality. This is a dissaster and a waste of money.
