Elegant Summer Dress That Runs Very Large

The dress is cut very nicely. Linen/cotton blend, so some natural wrinkling will occur. However, it's unlined and quite transparent, so a slip or something might be necessary. The dress runs very large. A size M fit more like a L - XL -- way too much fabric. The length, however, was good. I am returning and chose not to reorder because I'm not sure whether a S would be too large or not. For reference, I'm 5'6" and normally wear a 4-6-ish, so S or M, depending on the brand.
