  • About The Fragrance

    In Arabic, "Rihla" means "travel". In Eau Rihla eau de parfum, spicy pink peppercorn and the Atlas cedar evoke the roads of the Middle East. The lively, woody accords are softened along the way by iris, vanilla and saffron. As it would in the heart of the desert, the fragrance becomes warm.

    Under the desert sun, the sand dunes give way to the ruins of ancient cities. Two travelers advance along the path, the pages of their leather notebooks filling up with sketches before nightfall... Diptyque's history is charged with memories such as this one. Since the origins of the Maison, the Middle East and its imagery have nourished its creations. From the beginning of the 1960s, Diptyque's founders crisscrossed the routes of the region, roaming its landscapes.

    Eau Rihla evokes these travels, which have inspired a perfume conceived as the chronicle of a long journey, where leather, in all its splendor, changes throughout its composition. At first, the spicy liveliness of pink peppercorn and the woody notes of Atlas cedar create a vibrant accord. Then, as iris, vanilla and saffron come into play, the fragrance warms up, softens, and takes on the comfort of a second skin.

    A leather note was specially developed for Diptyque to enhance the composition of Eau Rihla. This natural ingredient with a leathery scent was obtained from Chinese cedar wood. It is a "vegetal" leather with an evocative fragrance.

The lightest leather

This is one of the best leather fragrances I’ve ever smelled. Nothing too dense where it can be only worn during one season. Perfect year round leather with a hint of sweetness from the raspberry. The saffron gives it the airiness for great sillage. A little hint of musk in the dry down. Reminiscent of TF Ombré Leather and Tuscan Leather. As a lover of leather fragrances, this is one that stands out.

Strong, long lasting.

Complex leather scent, great longevity and projection. If you or those around you do not appreciate leather scents, make sure to try before buying as this scent lingers for a long time. Overall is a very nice scent, just not for everyone.
