    Bal d'Afrique Absolu reimagines the iconic scent with a more gourmand intensity, heightening the contrast between vibrant lightness and addictive depth, paying tribute to founder Ben Gorham's personal memories and the vibrant artistic influence of African culture. This reinterpretation elevates the gourmand notes of Bal d'Afrique to an addictive level, all surrounding a heart of sweet praline. Notes of bergamot, lemon and blackcurrant offer a bold vibrance before melting into praline, sweet musks and violet. A woody blend of cedar and vetiver add depth and drama to the base, with warm black amber extending the gourmand push of the praline right to the very end.

    The Absolu de Parfum is held in a redesigned bottle, an homage to craftsmanship. Embodying the deep intensity and transformation, the textured cap, inspired by Yakisugi, the Japanese art of charring wood, opens to reveal the atomizer spray, complementing the bottle's elemental design and the clean curves of the glass that shows the intense color of the fragrance within.

Not a fan

I find this an expensive perfume— in the genre of Chanel, not Creed. So I was excited. However the sent did not last (as many reviews stated). But then, at put hotel in Miami, they had this as their signature scent.maybe being a snob, but that kinda ruined it for me at this price point. I had a great shower though…

All time favourite

BAL D'AFRIQUE is hands down my favourite scent from Byredo. And I am really glad it now has a edp version available. The scent from this is richer and lasts on the skin longer which means I can wear it all year round. The packing is simple yet beautiful, absolutely love it!

Smells very sweet. Lingers all day to next. I layered it with any other perfume I have to cut the sweetness and it gave a nice dry down.

love the scent, not a fan of the new design

The scent is beautiful — warm, smooth, and just a bit deeper than the original, which I love. It feels luxurious and wears well throughout the day. That said, I really preferred the old cap design. The new one just doesn’t feel as nice or premium in the hand.

A Richer, Bolder Bal d’Afrique

Bal d’Afrique Absolu is a deeper, more indulgent version of the original — warm, velvety, and a little gourmand. The praline and soft musks add richness without losing the vibrant citrus top. Something Different and Unique - Loving it..

I stumbled onto this brand and perfume while picking up my Creed and Tom Ford at my local Bloomingdale’s. Was really impressed with the smell - definitely different to what I normally wear and am used to. I like to try different things and wanted something unique as well to mix things up. I only got it yesterday but based on my personal experience, this feels like a winner (At least to me personally as it has most of my favorite notes). I highly recommend men who want something different to try out this perfume in person and check out the brand Byredo in general (or maybe not - it might be better if it’s a well kept secret so the smell remains unique lol)
