Disappointed with the most important feature - the toasting!

I bought this toaster because of the ‘diecast’. This implied a solid, very good quality to me. Seems just a marketing hook. I wanted a solid toaster that toasts well. All these bells and whistle are not necessary. It does not toast well. We continually have to go a bit more. It is very inconsistent. This is the second one. I had to send the first one back to Breville under warranty due to uneven toasting. Please just make a simple toaster that toasts properly. Forget all the electronic stuff.

Works great until it doesn’t

We’ve had this toaster for a little over 2 years, if that, and while it worked amazing at the start, by the end of the first year one side of element panels stopped working. We still found it useable by flipping the bread that was toasted on that side though it was inconvenient. Today the elements barely work at all. Toast comes out barely warm. Waffles are still cold to the touch. Very disappointing considering the cost.

Best Toaster I've Ever Had

I love this toaster. Works as described! I've had it for 5 years now and it still works and looks the same as the day I bought it. Thanks Breville, for making a great toaster.

Amazing

I’ve had my toaster from breville know for almost 10 years I’m going to buy a new one today it has been one of the best toasters I’ve ever owned, the only reason I’m buying a new one is because we’re moving into a brand new house and I want a 4 slice one know but I’m still keeping the original one because it’s still going strong and who knows maybe I’ll need it again I’m going to clean it well and store it thanks breville for fantastic appliances I’ve had many

Stopped working

Randomly stopped working on us. The buttons are not lighting up at all. Very disappointing.

Toaster short circuits within a few months!

We are loyal Breville customers and have bought numerous products from them, including an Oracle Touch espresso maker. About 9 months ago, we bought this toaster, and it has now short-circuited and can no longer be used. This is actually the second time this has happened to us with the same toaster! The first time, we assumed that it had been a freak occurrence and replaced the toaster. What is wrong with this product, and why hasn't Breville fixed it? I had a similar toaster in the UK that lasted 6+ years (it would still work if we were able to use it with a power converter!). Breville should do better with this product.

Gets The Job Done

I bought a new Breville to replace my 10 year old Breville. It's nice looking and fits just right on my counter. I did notice that the dial setting is a little bit different - a lower number setting to get the toast color that I like.

Disappointed

We had relatively good success, then the bread holder on one side got off its track and did not fully come up. Eventually you could use one side of the toaster, but if you used the Lift and Look button, the side that worked just started going up and down and would not stop until you hit the cancel button. Overall we like how solid the product was, the the internal operation was the downfall. I wish I could say I could recommend this toaster. I suppose it depends how well Breville stands behind its products.
