Regular fit is bigger than expected

I chose size 42 based on a jacket and shirt that I have, without realizing that they are both Slim Fit, this coat is a regular fit so it is about 2 sizes larger than expected, I should have ordered size 38, I liked it a lot so I will order it again in the correct size
