A dress not a skirt

Now I see that it's actually called a 'skirt dress' but the photos don't really show that this is a dress. I was fully expecting to receive a denim skirt. This is a one piece item - light denim top and darker skirt bottom - connected to be a dress. I didn't even try it on because it is not something I would never wear.
