Amazing Rice Cooker
I've had this for a while now, and I love everything about it. The outside is easy to wipe off, all the parts are easy to clean, rice comes out perfectly every time, cakes come out great, and it keeps the rice within safe temperatures for a long time. My only regret is not seeking a larger model, as my kids power through rice now that they've mastered onigiri! I came to this site to buy another one to give as a gift this holiday season.

Great Features but Flimsy Construction
The 10-cup model is the perfect size for our family. The functions are easy to understand and use. The unit and the accessories are easy to clean. For a big unit, it is actually quite light and easy to move around in the kitchen. The retractable cord is awesome too, but it requires a few perfect tugs to retract it because it gets stuck if you pull it the wrong way. On the second year of using the rice cooker, however, the plastic surrounding the hinge of the lid started to crack. Right now, the crack has gotten much bigger. We feel that the plastic material used is too thin/flimsy and it definitely couldn’t handle the constant opening and closing of the lid. It is very disappointing that a rice cooker in this price range would not be so well-made. We invested in this rice cooker thinking that it would last us a long time (our cheaper, old rice cooker we’ve had for 8 years). We don’t know what the long-term effect of the cracked lid is going to be on the cook, but so far the rice still comes out great - and that’s the most important thing. We have no idea how to fix it or if this is even part of the warranty. We hope Zojirushi takes this into account for the future to help improve their products. We will probably try another brand after this - did not meet expectations.

Rice cooker with steamer function is great
I always like Zojirushi's rice cooker and have been using it for many years. I used to have the smallest, 3 cups one, because it's portable and easier store away. But the smallest model doesn't have steam function. This time, I picked the the 5.5 cups rice cooker with steamer function. Zojirushi always cook rice great! I have used steamer function few times already, and really enjoy the convenience of steamer too. 5.5 cups rice cooker is not very big, so it's also easy to be put away when I am not using it. I wish the steamer part can be a bit deeper. Otherwise, a great produce and always very nice designed
