pretty but very thin

Not sure this is meant to be used. Gorgeous piece but very thin and not made for more than a tea pot in my opinion. If you want something that makes your table pretty - this is it. But not a useful trivet

Gold is off.

Gold is off compared to all my other butterfly gingko items. Black things on bottom came off.
