Smart Oven Air Fryer
Product Details
Web ID: 3479738Great little oven
I am enjoying this counter top oven. It has all the features of a toaster oven plus the air fryer feature. The controls are very intuitive and I like the pull out crumb catcher that protects the bottom of the oven. I am happy with my purchase.

So Far So Great!
We purchased this unit to replace our 4-year-old Cuisinart air-fryer/toaster-oven that had become unreliable. After reading rave reviews from several sources (including Consumer Reports) for this model's "big brother" (the Pro), we ran across this one at a great price and, given our limited counter space, decided to give it a try. We've only had it a couple of weeks, but so far, its features and performance (to the extent we have tried them) far outshine the Cuisinart with its clunky analog controls. The interior cavity is actually substantially larger (even though the official specs don't reflect that), the precise digital controls and wide range of available settings inspire confidence, and the few things we have prepared in it so far (mainly toast and reheated leftovers) have turned out very nicely. If anything changes, I'll be back to amend this review, but since Breville seems anxious to hear from us, I'll post this preliminary positive assessment.

Pros and Cons but still a good purchase
We have had our black truffle Smart Oven Air Fryer about six weeks ow and so far have been impressed with its performance. It replaced a Panasonic Flash Express which worked well for many years but had become an eyesore due to oil stains on the interior and it was hard to see through the window. I initially started looking at drawer style Air Fryers but cautiously opted for the smart oven to save space on our small counter. I only tried the air fryer basket once with some frozen French fries and was not impressed which may have been in part to them being store brand. They turned out slightly overdone and crispy but dry. I get much better results with those frys in a Teflon fry pan with added oil. Cleaning A close inspection after the above air frying experience revealed a few drops of burned on oil on the crumb tray and on the metal shields around the heating elements which I gave up trying to remove. Since then I have been very careful what I put in the oven and avoid things that could cause greasy spatters. I also wipe down the interior walls with a damp sponge at least once a week and clean the crumb tray at least once a day. Six weeks in I’m happy with the process of keeping it clean. Baking Trays I’ve chosen to not use the baking tray that came with it and instead purchased 2 USA non stick quarter sheet pans (which are excellent and fit in the oven with inches to spare. We also purchased a Lodge 10 ½ diameter Casti Iron pan which is nice to have and is an excellent fit for the oven. Toasting Performance It takes a bit longer to toast bread than our previous oven but its more generous size accommodates up to six slices of sandwich bread. The temperature range of 1-7 works well for typical white and brown sandwich breads. For dense rye and sourdough breads expect to do two toast cycles. Overall I am happy with its toasting performance and found it to be consistent even when doing multiple batches. It toasts bagels much better than our previous oven. Nicely toasted a light brown on top and soft and warm on the inside and bottom. Overall Baking Performance We have been amazed at how well this bakes. Baked potatoes in our full size oven came out with a hard to cut dried skin. This oven bakes them perfectly in the same time or less without drying them out. Frozen potatoes come out nice and crispy using the USA quarter sheet pans and I suspect they would also do well or better using the supplied tray and rack. I’m also impressed with its ability to turn out spring rolls that are nicely crisped with crunchy vegetables on the inside. It also did an excellent job baking an 8” square pan of brownies. Conclusion If we could have fit it on our counter I would have purchased the next size up which comes with multiple racks and is 1 cubit foot inside vs 0.8 cubic feet and would accommodate some of our other casserole dishes and it also comes with some additional features. Overall, this has become our oven of choice.due to the superior results we get with it. I have used it for frozen pre-cooked chicken wings but am careful to give it a good wipe after it cools down and I do not use the air fryer basket.

Deep gorgeous navy
Gorgeous, strong, quiet, easy to read LCD panel, well-functioning dial to change cooking settings, solid construction. Nice size, not too big nor small. I use this for reheating, baking, cooking - mini pies with pastry are baked evenly, the pastry is golden. Beautiful blue gives me a smile. I love this oven and all things Breville for almost 20 years now. Thank you to other person who posted a photo of their oven in Blue and Breville for giving us colour and quality.

Fair to good
This item is a replacement for one ordered and returned, which had a broken front glass. While using the original for the first time the glass panel shattered. I have read that this has happened to others. Don’t know whether this is a manufacturing defect or a design defect. In any case, the toaster oven works but seems a bit fragile. Don’t know that I will be buying another Breville anytime soon.

So disappointed
Have been using this for several months. Loved my mini smart oven but needed something larger. This oven never gets to the set temperature. Set for 425 degrees. Preheat done but temp is only at 250. Increase temp to 450 and it goes no higher than 375. Of course I expected this to work properly so I didn’t save the packaging to return it.

A Powerful Little Oven!
I got this to use while I wait for my new wall oven to be delivered. Now I’m thinking that other than for really large items (a turkey?!), I don’t need to replace my wall oven at all!
