Inspired by her three young sons, Annette Cook crafted her first collection of children’s clothing from washable satins and cozy knits in 1994. Channeling California ease and soothing colors, she named her company Barefoot Dreams. Media write-ups and celebrity buzz helped the designer expand into selling branded Disney products and chic loungewear. The brand’s offerings include men’s and women’s apparel, blankets, pillows, throws, and candles, all available worldwide from department stores and high-end boutiques. Giving back is part of the brand’s identity, and the company donates time and resources to various US hospitals. In 2020 Barefoot Dreams opened its flagship store in Malibu, where the brand continues to welcome newcomers into its casual and calming world.
