DO NOT BUY

This new version of the Mesa car seat should not be allowed to be sold. The car seat puts the baby’s head in an unsafe position and restricts their airways. Do not buy.

Terrible and unsafe seat position no matter what

I did a lot of research on my car seat for our son who is now 8 weeks old and I am utterly disappointed in my car seat decision. Despite reading the manual, watching videos and the car seat team at our hospital check baby’s position in the seat, it seems so unsafe. Baby’s chin is tucked to his chest and has a hard time breathing. How am I supposed to trust that my baby is truly safe in his car seat if he is wailing and screaming in discomfort. I will not be buying another up baby car seat for this reason, I do not want to be disappointed or waste money on another uncomfortable seat!!

Very concerning positioning for our newborn

I purchased the MESA V3 about one month ago, before my baby was born. We have used it for only three car rides, and each time our newborn’s head slouched forward toward her chest. She appeared uncomfortable, made distress sounds, and seemed to have difficulty breathing while seated in it. We tried carefully positioning her, but the same problem continued. We are now scared to place her in the car seat again and are considering purchasing a different brand. We chose UPPAbaby because we believed a premium brand would provide our baby with a high level of comfort and safety. Unfortunately, our experience with the MESA V3 has been extremely upsetting and disappointing. I wish I had seen feedback about this type of positioning concern before purchasing it, as we invested a significant amount of money in this car seat and now regret our decision.

Will recommend to every new parent

My baby used this car seat from birth to 15 months and I absolutely loved it. My baby fit so perfect. As a first time parent it was fool proof to use, easy to install, and it was very easy to take through the airport. I will be using this car seat for next child.

Get something else

Rattles in a car especially when empty. Takes too much space for the amount of decline/layback it gives to a baby. Barely fits in an SUV with front seat having to be adjusted allowing no comfort in front. I would get a stroller and bassinet but skip the car seat - get something else.

My son & daughter in law wanted this Car Seat for their newborn. I find it fits a little too small but they say it is supposed to be that way. I love that it has head support.

Broken canopy

Only been using it since February and the sun canopy is already broken, pops out on both sides all the time even after clipping it back in. Love the seat and feel itself but disappointed given the price and my usual love of uppababy products.
