Disappointed anticipation

I really wanted to love this dress because it looks so elegant and sleek on the model. However, when I tried it on, it just didn't work for me. I have a nice shape, but the dress ended up looking frumpy. I pre-ordered three different sizes and waited a month to receive them, filled with excitement. The size 2 seemed like it would be perfect, but it was a tiny bit snug on top, and the size 4 had too much room in the waist. I considered getting the size 4 altered, but as another reviewer mentioned, the dress felt stiff and lacked the graceful flow I expected from the pictures. I was hoping this would be Staud’s standout piece for the season, but unfortunately, it fell short for me, especially considering the price.
