QUILTING LAYER:
Tack-and-jump quilting layers offer enhanced surface comfort and feel. Belgian Damask quilted cover is woven for durability, resisting pilling and wear to ensure a long-lasting, smooth sleep surface.
Materials: Belgian damask, rayon, viscose, high density super-soft Luxe Foam, 2 layers of plush dacron topper.
COMFORT LAYER:
The pillowtop construction uses extra comfort materials that provide additional pressure relief for heavier body parts, such as the hips and shoulders, creating natural spinal alignment. A Shifman pillowtop is a fully enclosed pillow layer sewn into the build of the mattress. Cotton provides year-round breathability and a lifetime of durability. High-density foam and super-soft luxe foam create a unique surface feel for a variety of sleepers creating the ultimate in comfort. Additionally, a mix of cotton and foam upholstery offers more durable comfort than all foam mattresses.

I was looking for a mattress to be used on a flexible frame or base so I could raise the head part for my reflux. This mattress was on one of these flexible frames that I also purchased in the store. In the store I tried the mattress and remote to raise the head area and it seemed fine. What I didn't know at the time of purchase was it would be impossible to raise the head area any higher than a few inches due to the fact that this mattress is 15" thick and not really designed to flex anywhere. Can't understand why the store was marketing mattress and flexible frame together. When mattress and frame arrived I was disappointed to sleep on it. The head part did go up slightly just as in the store, but since the mattress is 15" thick, it couldn't bend anywhere. The more I tried to raise just the head area, the more of a slant I was in to the point I was sliding downward with the blankets.. The foot part did go up when I tried with the remote to prevent the sliding but of course the 15" thick mattress could not bend in that area either. Now I was more than 2 feet off the floor and lying totally flat on the mattress defeating the purpose of my purchase. Luckily I was able to return the adjustable frame and mattress successfully.

Been using our new mattress for a month and love it so far! Typically mattresses take some breaking into, but we had wonderful sleep starting day 1. Hoping the longevity is there as this was a pricey premium mattress. Highly recommend.

Way Too Firm
I tried this mattress in the store and was delighted with how plush it felt. Not the case with the mattress I received. I have slept on it for 5 weeks waking each day with lower back pain and sore hip bones. I regret not fully researching this mattress in that it is not a typical Shifman in that it is NOT hand-tied but manufactured.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Shifman, Metropolitan "Vanderbilt" PLUSH Pillow Top Mattress is so comfortable. I finally can sleep. The order and delivery process was simple and easy. Communication was very clear and precise on when I will receive the mattress. The delivery guys were on time and complete gentlemen. They took care of everything from Opening the box and carrying in the mattress. It’s a heavy mattress but they managed. They set up the mattress the way I needed and they took away the old mattress and removes all packaging. The mattress was aired out for about 24 hrs before we used. The bed didn’t not have a heavy smell but a slight scent not over powering at all. The bed is so soft but yet has structure. You can tell the bed is luxury by the way it feels. When I roll over my husband doesn’t get disturbed by my movement. No more back pains or shoulder pains. I’m a side and stomach sleeper and I adore this mattress. So comfy and you won’t regret it. My regular deep pocket sheets and pads fit perfect. The bed is not hot at all. We live in Florida and found the mattes to be breathable and keeps cool. My night sweats went away and I’m so thankful I am no longer overheat. I highly recommend the Shifman, Metropolitan "Vanderbilt" PLUSH Pillow Top Mattress is heaven. The most amazing luxury mattress I’ve ever owned. You will love it!!!

Well rested
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband and I have been looking for a mattress that’s firm enough for him and soft enough for me. This mattress has the right amount of plushness that I don’t wake up with hip pain anymore and the right amount of support so my husband doesn’t wake with back pain anymore. We both have been getting much better sleep since we started sleeping on this mattress. The customer service setting up the delivery was a great experience as well.
