Reliable percsle
Just enough smoothness, without any stickiness like that horrible sateen. Shrinkage is minimal. A True percale. Still looks decent after a few washes.

Never buying Celeste sheets again.
I have three sets of Sferra. Two are Celeste but the older set does not have the name listed. Every single sheet has ripped (they tear so easily) as has much of the hemstitch on the pillowcases. I spent this past weekend repairing sheets and sewing over the feature hemstitches in order the salvage the pillowcases. Even some the seams of the pillowcases are coming apart. I am beyond disappointed. And, I am a careful launderer; I wash my sheets in cold water and line dry them. Occasionally they go in the dryer - if raining. For the cost, I expected my sheets to last for many years but it seems the lifespan is about two or three years. So, now I have expensive Italian sheets with giant patches on them - not pretty. I am trying one more time with Sferra - just bought two Giza 45 pillowcases to see if they last longer. No more Celeste.
Beautiful Sheets, but be careful
I bought the Celeste sheets two and a half years ago, in the Silver Sage color. They are absolutely beautiful, and the sheets are getting softer and silkier as I use them. I estimate that I have washed them about 70 times, gentle cycle, minimum detergent, only sheets in the machine, dry on moderate heat until half-dried, then iron right away. And even with following all the care recommendations, the hemstitching at the top of the flat sheet eventually came apart, in several places. The stitching appears to have weakened over time. When I first got the flat sheet, I noticed that there was a fair amount of puckering between the hemstitching and the top hem, like there was a tension difference between the two; I always had to iron the top hem quite a lot to keep it flat. I suspect this tension difference over time led to the hemstitiching finally coming apart. To salvage the sheet, I cut off the top hem, and hand-sewed a plane hem; a bit rustic but it serves its purpose. However, with paying $250 when I bought this sheet, I expected it to not fail so quickly. So beautiful sheets, but with a weakness. I would have been just as happy with a plain hem.

Spend your money on something else!
We bought 2 sets of these sheets. And pillowcases. On one sheet the hem stitch is coming apart. Not just one place where you might thing a finger poked through. Tears appeared in multiple places across the top sheet. The other top sheet is fine. However, neither Bloomingdales nor Sferra will replace the damaged sheet. Bloomingdales gives you 90 days. Sferra nothing. It is a lot of money for something that falls apart.
