Believe the reviews on sizing
I always read reviews and adjust my size accordingly. I don't care about the number inside the jeans, I just want them to fit. I have several pairs of Mother Denim, including a pair of the weekenders in another wash. To be safe, I went up 2 sizes based on reviews. A 27 in these fit like a 25. The color is very pretty. However as others have mentioned, they are very form fitting around the knee. My other weekenders are tapered at the knee, but not as extreme as these. Didn't think these were flattering on me so so am returning them. First Mother Denim purchase ever to go back. If you do end up trying these be sure to go up 1-2 sizes

Fit is not the same as other Mother Weekenders
For some reason some of the Mother Weekender jeans fit and other colors in the same size are skin tight and won’t even zip. This is one of those. I wear a 26 in the layover color and the 27 in these barely zipped. The color is also a little too pinky for me. Fabric is just not the same as the layover and not good quality. I don’t know why Mother can’t have better quality control and consistency in their sizing. I would also prefer a slightly longer length.

Buy These Jeans!
I am always a size 27 in Mother Denim (5'7 and 120 lbs) but needed a 28 in these jeans. As other reviewers noted, they run a little smaller with less stretch. The thigh area is particularly tight (but sexy!) and could be uncomfortable for a curvy figure. HOWEVER, they are FABULOUS!! I am tempted to buy another pair at the sale price. These are my "go to" pants when I don't want to wear blue or white denim. Just a nice change. I have worn these to dinner several times (so sitting for a few hours each time) and I never feel constricted or uncomfortable. And yes, you should size up one size depending on your body type. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
