The Butterfly Ginkgo Collection celebrates the representation of flora as fauna. Michael's fascination with a particular type of ginkgo tree , the Ginkgo Biloba, or "Butterfly Ginkgo", which grows with a double leaf reminiscent of a butterfly's wings, gave rise to a fantasia image of the plant. Executed at the highest level of handcraftsmanship, each piece is rendered in solid brass with hand etched cocoon-shaped vessels. The pieces in the collection are a tour de force of the handcrafted process, capturing the poetic spirit that is so deeply indicative of Michael's work.

  • about the brand

During his first trip to Delhi, Michael Aram was so captivated by the rich tradition of craftsmanship and centuries-old metalworking techniques that he set up his own studio. More than 30 years later, over 200 local Indian artisans handcraft exquisite tableware, linens, and decorative objects for the home. Inspired by the natural world and drawing on the designer's background as a painter, a sculptor, and an art historian, the brand's striking creations pair delicate organic details with signature metalwork.

Exquisite

Truly a work of art. Excellent quality. I adore having it as a centerpiece on my dining room table. I’m so tired of flowers fresh or silk.

Unusual and elegant menorah

This menorah is beautiful and classy with a classic shape and interesting design woven in gold and silver. It actually looks like a piece of art. I can’t wait to see it glowing with the light from the candles.
